Great work! Seeing an untethered Glaucus in the wild would be amazing.
Any chance of uploading the design/schematics to Thingiverse or similar so other folks can use it on their own soft robotics projects?

Re: PneuNets Extending Actuator
Excellent work. Thanks for posting. Any ideas on what you'll use them for? If you're specifically looking to perfect an extending actuator to act like a piston in a soft robotics context, you might also play with other geometries and materials. You'll notice that the PneuNets bots all have chambers ...
Re: Squid
Howdy. I think these soft bots have some really interesting applications in underwater ROV's. One of the difficulties is regulating buoyancy. There's actually a thread on the OpenROV forum here about trying to power a soft gripper with water vs air pressure. In general ribbed chambers will expand th...

The Glaucus
Hi, folks. I just finished the latest Super-Releaser design. It's a soft robotic quadruped called the Glaucus, and I urge you to give it a look. This post has links to where you can download the design, read a tutorial on how to make your own, and lots more. https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3764/13301...

Re: Your tentacle
The valves I'm using just bleed when there's pressure on them and I have a needle valve inline with the air supply to allow the pressure back out. I'm not certain if the Adafruit valves bleed when there's back pressure. I'm using a board that came with a bunch of these on it, but they're pretty scar...

Re: Flowering Plant
I'm going to give this one some thought and try to do a detailed response later. On a first pass, it seems pretty doable. You might be able to get the flower to inflate with a texture like an eye on it by casting the silicone sheet that closes off the robot on top of a plastic sheet laser etched wit...

Official Super-Releaser Bots
This post contains an up-to-date list of all the Super-Releaser soft robot releases, their proper names, rev numbers, and accompanying documentation/downloads. Post in this thread with links to any experiments you've done with them, threads with questions and comments about them, and your own forks ...

Re: Your tentacle
Excellent! Glad to hear the tentacle worked. I also had trouble with getting fastenings and air fittings on to the silicone bots in the beginning. My solution for that has been to laser cut a wooden base for the bot with holes slightly smaller than the hoses that I'm putting into it. When I push the...

Re: Your tentacle
Howdy, Seeing the experiments you're producing is pretty exciting. It really validates what I'm doing when other people are able to pick up one of my designs and run with it. I think I might be able to help you with some of the flaws you're seeing in the castings. You should try casting the cores in...
